Ian leads Bournemouth University’s external engagement strategy, linking the university with practice. Ian’s main area of responsibility at BU is in helping to establish relationships with community and industry, encouraging them to engage with the university. As part of this he has spearheaded campaigns involving staff and students giving back to the local area via volunteering and other activities.

He also works closely with local organisations, businesses, councils and local MPs, such as the Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner, AFC Bournemouth and BCP Council. Ian was key in providing support and advice to the student team who organised highly successful inaugural TEDx conference at BU. He also has media experience in both national and local, press and broadcast.
