The National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement‘s award competition, Engage 2016, is open for entries!

The closing date is Monday 18th July 2016 at 12 noon.

The competition recognises and celebrates the excellent work that it is being done to share and develop research with the public.

Applications are welcome from projects of all sizes and cost and from all disciplines. In 2014, over 230 entries were submitted and finalists and winners were celebrated at the national Engage Competition 2014 awards ceremony , at the Natural History Museum.

The categories for awards this year include

Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

Health and Wellbeing

Engaging With Young People: A really important audience to engage – we’re looking forward to hearing from projects and researchers inspiring young people in a range of different ways.

Working In Partnership: If your project has been particularly collaborative in nature, this is the category for you. Examples could include: collaborations across different research disciplines; community based research; co-production; etc.

Individually Led Projects: From those just starting out, to those who have inspired new ways of thinking about and doing public engagement, this category celebrates projects led by individuals. We’d like to hear from individuals who have gone above and beyond to engage the public in their research

Entries will be assessed according to these criteria:

• Purpose
• Quality
• Mutual Benefit
• Innovation
• Sustainability

These awards demonstrate the variety, quality and importance of public engagement activity for universities.
