What does quality look like in teaching?
How do you apply effective pedagogical strategies? How might you integrate technology into your teaching and would you like to achieve recognition for your teaching? This week we’re sharing FLIE information and resources to help you with your continuous professional development as an educator.
The PG Cert EP aims to provide students with the core knowledge, skills and professional values to undertake and enhance their practice as educators in HE. It seeks to support your continuing professional development as a critical reflective practitioner who is prepared to fully engage with the changing HE environment, fostering effective and dynamic approaches to teaching and learning through creativity, innovation and continuous reflexive development. The course is intended for those who already teach/support learning in an HE setting.
TeachBU
TeachBU is our Advance HE accredited programme through which BU staff and PGRs can apply for recognition in the Associate Fellow, Fellow and Senior Fellow categories. Advance HE Fellowship is a widely recognised teaching qualification, and is based upon the submission of a series of reflective case studies that consider aspects of your support for teaching and learning within the HE sector. Digital Pedagogies Framework
The framework was designed to enhance the consistency of the student learning experience through their interactions with Brightspace, and to support staff with the quality of their teaching delivery and assessment requirements. It offers a structured approach to building out your units with suggested pedagogical approaches and digital tools to use. The framework is reviewed each year to keep it current with BU practice, so do check it out to see where it can support you at each stage of your unit design and delivery.
Sharing Good Practice
The Good Practice section of our Brightspace Staff Resources area provides tips, guidance and examples of teaching practices shared by academic and FLIE colleagues at BU. Included here are showcase videos with academics talking through approaches they have taken with Brightspace and other digital tools.
