New Year – new study? PART 1: Innovations in Assessment and Feedback

Anne Quinney (CEL Theme Leader for Assessment and feedback) and Professor Dai Hounsell (Visiting Professor and World Class expert in Assessment and feedback) are running a series of 4 workshops/masterclasses on Innovations in Assessment and Feedback

These develop in-depth knowledge and skills in assessment and feedback in Further Education and Higher Education settings and develop innovative approaches to the practice of assessment and feedback. Learners will explore current research and practice in designing assignments that promote learning and will extend their knowledge and skills of assessment for learning and techniques for feedback and feedforward in the context of student-centred learning.

There are two routes through which you can engage with this short course, either as Continuing Professional Development(CPD) or as an accredited unit. 

  • Colleagues may attend this short course as CPD, either committing to attend all 4 sessions or individually.
  • Colleagues can gain accreditation (either as a stand-alone or as the PGDip level of the MA Education Practice) by attending all sessions, attending an assignment workshop and submitting the assessment. Those successfully completing the assessment will achieve 20 Level 7 credits. If you have already completed BU’s PGCert Education Practice and complete three of these accredited units below you can put these towards the MA Education Practice available from September 2017.
