Do you know all the facets of Google search?

You’ve seen the marketing blurb before – ‘How Product X changed my life’.  I had such a revelatory experience when visiting a site hosted by the University of Southampton and containing a set of open resources to help staff and students gain the most from using technology.

https://www.lexdis.org.uk/

As an example, the home page contains an infographic of tips for optimising a Google search.  Of the 12 tips, I had only used the first two in the past.  Did you know that you can search the URL, find news items from a particular geographic location or search for a range of numbers/prices?

The site has a range of guides to support inclusive learning with many links and suggestions to consider.

Lexdis also has excellent resources for users of technology with a range of difficulties including blindness, colour deficiency, hearing loss and visual acuity to name a small selection.

If you visit the site and find it useful, please share your discoveries with us.
