Stephen has spent a large part of his career as a foreign correspondent and media executive covering news in Europe, the Middle East and the United States for Reuters. In his final position for the news agency, he was Global Head of News, responsible for all editorial output including text, TV, news pictures and graphics.
Before working at BU, Stephen was a visiting scholar at Green College Oxford researching areas of journalism and spin. He is a frequent commentator on issues in the media, including recent contributions to BBC Radio Solent and he has also been interviewed for national press such as The Independent.
