Lee researches the relationship between innovation and resilience in crisis and disaster management.
He is particularly interested in the impact of entrepreneurship in international crisis and disaster
management, with specific emphasis on developing concepts of ‘entrepreneurial resilience’.
He is also involved in several projects examining the role of communication strategies, gaming and
simulations in crisis and disaster management. Lee is a leading member of BU’s Disaster Management
Centre and also writes on aspects of EU crisis management and the politics of European integration.
Lee is a regular commentator on international TV and radio, particularly in the Nordic countries.
Lee has extensive media experience, speaking with international media, as well as UK-based BBC News, Today Programme, Sky News and more.
