Sally has over twenty years of experience of social work practice with adults in a range of community and hospital settings. This work has including managing complex safeguarding interventions and working within mental capacity legislation and other statutory functions.
Her research has focused on marginalised groups and has promoted participatory approaches which empower individuals and ensure the articulation of often silenced voices.
Sally’s doctoral research investigated disability and sexual well-being and she is developing a significant body of work on this topic, including learning materials for practitioners, a short film and multiple publications. Sally is also collaborating on developing game-based learning within social work education.
