Anya’s current research interests and publications include work on the regeneration of coastal resorts, tourism development in Malta, tourism employment and traditional attractions at British seaside resorts such as fairgrounds, piers, and amusement arcades.
Anya serves on the Executive Committee of the National Piers Society and has visited all 59 seaside piers in the UK!
She has been on national and local radio as well as newspapers, and has written online articles in addition to both international and national magazine features.
Anya is a Member of England’s Coastal Tourism Leadership Forum, the Academic Panel Member Blackpool Museum Project, the Founding Member of Seaside Heritage Network and the Honorary Secretary of the National Piers Society.
