Andrew teaches across a range of sport and social policy modules and has published in the same
area. Recent publications have focused on the examination of sport, policy and the social impacts for
grassroots sport organisations.

His current research focuses on sport, Big Society and social capital; human rights in sport; and
grassroots sport and community development. This has all developed from Andrew’s doctoral thesis
Voluntary sports clubs and social capital and has progressed to include examinations of the relationship
between sport and social justice, and sport and human rights.
