Annie’s career started in broadcast television drama, having graduated from Bournemouth University.
Working in production as Location Manager, Production Manager and 1st Assistant Director, she has experience across both contemporary dramas (EastEnders, Casualty, Holby City) as well as costume dramas (Love in A Cold Climate and A Respectable Trade).
On returning to Bournemouth she set up and ran Kids Camera Action, a film school for kids to share her passion with children who were keen to hone their talent and confidence for making movies.
Annie is now Deputy Head of Department for Media Production at Bournemouth University where her research interests also dovetail into her professional practice and education; working to improve reflective learning on film sets with a particular emphasis on health and safety.
Other areas of interest are utilising 360 VR camera technology in her educational and research activities. She is also the founding member of BAFTA Albert in Education Partnership which brings together other HE partners to bring sustainable filmmaking practice to undergraduates and post graduates in the sector.
Most recently her professional practice has seen her working as 1st Assistant Director to shoot the kids’ feature film ‘Future TX’ starring Griff Rhys Jones.
