Prior to joining BU, Ashley’s career spanned camerawork, producing and directing for companies like MTV, LWT, Nickelodeon and BBC Children’s TV. He has worked on news, factual programmes, promos, commercials, entertainment and comedy – often creating media with an interactive slant, and mostly within children’s television.
Ashley is co-editor of the Children’s Media Foundation research blog and his research interests cover the lived media experience of children in a ‘cross-platform’ world and the ways in which UK children may be influenced by American media. He has regularly featured on-air for Nickelodeon and BBC Children’s TV.
