A former magazine journalist who also writes women’s fiction, Emma teaches writing, editing, publishing and feature writing at BU. Emma is also the editorial director of Fresher Publishing, which runs a public creative writing prize and takes creative writing workshops into primary schools.
She is passionate about the power of creative writing for personal development. In her own writing, she is interested in the representation of middle-aged women and the pressures they are increasingly under as ‘the squeezed generation’ – juggling caring for elderly parents with children and careers. Her media experience includes interviews for BBC Radio Solent and BBC television.
