Mentimeter is an internet-based audience response tool that you may have seen in the TEL Toolkit. It is similar to TurningPoint in that questions are prepared in advance and then answered by students in lectures and seminars. Where Mentimeter differs from the current version of TurningPoint that BU uses is in the device used by students. Mentimeter relies on students having a smart device with an internet connection.
CEL and the Learning Technologists are evaluating competing options in the audience response arena. Over the next 3 months we would like to trial the alternatives and find what works best for BU.
As part of this trial, we are looking for five volunteers who can trial Mentimeter in the next 3 months. If you are teaching or working in an environment that would benefit from audience response capture and would like to test Mentimeter, we would like to hear from you. Please contact David Biggins.
