This week saw the re-filming of the Insight Dementia virtual reality film. The film demonstrates a simulated scenario of a male person with dementia going into hospital and was created following conversations with carers and people living with dementia of their experiences of going into hospital.
Following the filming of the first film last year, the team were pleased to demonstrate the film to the Highcliffe Dementia Group, including the carers and people with lived experience we had spoken to, as well as many other colleagues and external professional staff, to hear their feedback. We were delighted to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback around the educational value of the film and the realistic portrayal of how a person may feel going into an unfamiliar hospital environment.
Building on the first film, we then set out to re-make the film with a few small changes we had collected from our feedback to enhance the video as an educational tool
