LTs get serious with Lego

Last week, the Learning Technology team had the opportunity to get involved in a Lego® Serious Play® workshop with practitioner Dr Holly Henderson from FLIE. In these workshops, Lego is used to model themes and visualise ideas in a safe space which fosters communication where everyone’s voice is heard.

In our team building activity, the team explored different themes, including personal values and positive feedback, articulating our ideas through the medium of Lego. Each phase involved a challenge, building and then reflecting and sharing the meaning of our models. Getting hands-on with the tool generated lots of creativity and discussion, and everyone really enjoyed the experience. The session also served as an introduction for the team to the Lego® Serious Play® methodology and helped us gain an understanding of its practice and application in education.
