UoA23 (Education) are delighted that Dr Huiwen Zhao has accepted a post working with us (CEL and CEMP)to develop the impact of our research. Huiwen got off to a great start by presenting her own research to an international conference in mass customisation.

BU CEL newly joined post-doctoral researcher Dr. Huiwen Zhao recently attended the 8th International Conference on Mass Customization and Personalization – Community of Europe (MCP – CE 2018). This conference is organised biannually and this year was held in Serbia, with the key theme of the Digital Customer Experience.
Dr.Zhao presented her paper “’Why do we buy mass customised products?’ – consumer’s perspective of success factors for online mass customisation” in the conference. This paper investigated the factors that influence customer decisions to buy customised products. 15 participants were interviewed at the user study stage. This paper received useful comments from conference reviewers and had the opportunity to be published on the International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Before joining CEL, Dr. Zhao worked on a research project funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Individual Fellowship [grant number 661501]. This paper is part of the research project.
