Subject: Employability development for HE mathematics and statistics: case studies of successful practice

Dear all,

You may be aware that part of the activity of the sigma Network Employability SIG was to create a booklet containing a guide for staff aiming to develop student employability through the curriculum and a series of case studies of successful practice in implementing employability with HE students. This booklet is now available electronically.

The 18 case studies cover:

  • numeracy skills for the workplace and graduate recruitment testing;
  • transition to employment, including careers awareness and career management skills;
  • placement preparation and assessment of placement learning;
  • graduate employability skills developed through the taught curriculum.

We are arranging a limited print run. If you would like to request a print copy (while stocks last, as they say!), please email me on p.rowlett@shu.ac.uk.
We are most grateful to members of this community who contributed to the collection of case studies.
