Service Excellence Conference 2017 – thank you!

Service Excellence Conference 2017 – thank you!

09 May 2017

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all those people who supported us by attending this years’ Service Excellence Conference – it was an inspiring and surprisingly emotional day!

If you didn’t manage to make it – and we all know that sometimes other ‘stuff’ gets in the way – we thought you might be interested to know what went on.

Susanne Clarke started the day by presenting the case for the role that kindness has in Service Excellence – behaviours that include generosity, friendliness and consideration. We presented the growing body of evidence to support the impact of promoting kindness and how  these traits link to our BU values. We will continue to develop this theme and provide updates on the staff intranet.

SUMO guy, Paul McGee made a welcome return and gave us a Service Excellence top-up with his down-to-earth approach to making a difference and keeping our dreams alive. Christine Stewart gave us an interesting insight into Lean (process improvement) methods and how we can use some of the Lean tools to help us avoid having ‘one of those days’! Laura Jane Parker ran a workshop on ‘working out loud’ to encourage collaboration using social media. Sir John Jones had us all reaching for the tissues with his heart felt presentation ‘Magic Weavers’, reminding us how privileged we are to work in an environment that makes a difference to people’s lives. Not forgetting all our BU representatives who gave us an insight into their service excellence initiatives and projects. Take a look at our Service Excellence Conference storify.

Service Excellence in action

We will be publishing copies of relevant collateral and useful information which demonstrates the different approaches to Service Excellence from across BU and externally. Please do keep a look out for these.
