Professor Debbie Holley appointed as Head of CEL

Professor McIntyre-Bhatty has just released this excellent news:

Dear all,

I am delighted to announce that Professor Debbie Holley has been appointed as the Head of our Centre of Excellence in Learning (CEL) at Bournemouth University.

Debbie is a Professor of Learning Innovation, a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the HEA and has previously served as Deputy Head of the Centre. Her career has taken her from senior industry roles to academia, where she now specialises in pedagogic research and in enhancing the student experience through excellence in learning.

CEL will make a significant contribution to ensuring that the University secures excellent outcomes within the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) in the future, as well as co-convening a Research Excellence Framework (REF) unit of assessment (UoA 25, Education). As a result, CEL plays a major role for BU as an embodiment of fusion – blending pedagogy, research and practice – and it provides a focal point for supporting staff further to develop high quality practice in learning, taking delight in facilitating their students’ learning and enabling them to reach their full potential.

I am sure you will join me in congratulating Debbie as she takes-up her new role as Head of the Centre for Excellence in Learning with immediate effect!

The CEL team is delighted.
