Borrowing from the title of one of my favourite books on qualitative research (Qualitative researching with text, image and sound), next Saturday 25 June I will be hosting a public engagement event on qualitative analysis as part of BU’s Festival of Learning.
My drop-in event ‘How do scientists analyse images, sound and text?’ Will introduce the special software scientists use to extract meaning from videos, drawings, songs and other creative materials. This process, which is called qualitative analysis, will be covered during the session, and participants will have the opportunity to take part in first-hand qualitative analysis (with and without software), identifying the ideas, values and practices underpinning these materials.
This event will be apposite for a general audience and for families with older children.
