The eMundus project is over: long live the eMundus results!
The eMundus project came to an end in December 2015, following two years of intense work where the project team has been facilitating discussions and awareness raising activities on the relation between Open Education (UER, MOOCs, Virtual Mobility and more) and international cooperation among universities. We have gathered data from and organised events in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, as well as online, reaching and collaborating all in all with more than 500 universities.
In a nutshell, the main finding of eMundus is that open approaches can have a positive impact on international collaboration of universities, increasing not only trust and mutual understanding but also efficiency and innovation. Still, the way to go to promote Open Education as a catalyst towards inclusive, intercultural and effective international academic cooperation is long and much work remains to be done.
In the eMundus site you can find all project outcomes: a few country reports on OE developments in the project countries, an interactive online Atlas of Open Education initiatives an Exploratorium with tools and approaches that can facilitate the adoption of open practices in the daily work of universities, a set of recommendations to improve international academic collaboration through open approaches. And, if you want to get the full picture of our legacy, you can do so through our Final Publication. All these results are openly released and are there to be used and improved by experts, institutions, projects and initiatives.
