Dr Debbie Holley, Associate Professor and Deputy Head of CEL has just returned from the London International Conference on Education, where she gave a keynote to participants called ‘An Open Education Resource (OER) approach to CPD’ calling for a more teacher focused approach to planning for, and organising, Continuous Professional Development. Drawing upon a series of research studies, Dr Holley made the case for using Creative Commons to enable reuse, repurposing and sharing of educational artefacts, and concluded with the latest UNESCO news where a long term policy commitment to OER has been agreed and communicated in the last week.
