Abstract

This talk will address some issues associated with the determination of public domain for film works. More specifically, it will explain (with supporting examples) how films and film works (scripts, soundtracks, characters…) fell into the public domain, in the USA or elsewhere, and how they survived and how they have been or can be resurrected in certain countries.
