Economics of Copyright in the Cultural and Creative Industries – Call for Papers

Workshop, 11 March 2020 – 10:00-17:00

Bournemouth University, Executive Business Centre, room EB708

Christian Handke and Ruth Towse invite you to contribute a paper to this all day event. Draft papers and extended abstracts are welcome. We are editing an issue of the Journal of Cultural Economics (impact factor 1.825) on the topic and intend to include a selection of papers from the Workshop in this issue, for which there would be a word limit of 7,500 words.

This is a wide-ranging subject area and we are looking for papers that include topics, such as the role of copyright in artists’ labour markets (earnings, motivation, contracts, CMOs), in industrial organisation (platform economics, contracting, specific industries eg games) and regulation (copyright law, competition law and CMOs). We also welcome theoretical papers that advance understanding of these topics.

Abstracts/papers should be submitted to Ruth Towse on ruth.towse@gmail.com by the end of January, 2020.
