Freyja van den Boom obtained her Masters in Law (LLM) degree at Tilburg University. Before joining Bournemouth University in 2017, she worked as a European project researcher for Open Knowledge International and ICRI/CIR, KU Leuven looking at privacy and data protection, open access and data mining. She also gained experience and expertise in IP law working as a certified Trademark and Design attorney and as a qualified lecturer on Law and Ethics at the Academy of Digital Entertainment. Her research interests include the regulation of new digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence. In her spare time, she works as a multimedia artist.
Under supervision of Dr Julie Robson and Dr Sally Weston, Freyja will conduct her PhD research on the legal and ethical aspects of control, optimizing and monetizing Big Data from V2X communication systems.
