The Centre for Excellence in Learning is pleased to invite applications for its Student Led Co-creation Projects. The co-creation project funds student-led, collaborative projects delivering co-created outputs between an academic and a student. Whether that’s a paper, presentation or product, the output is important. Projects don’t have to form part of a particular unit of a curriculum and it is open to final year students. Successful proposals receive up to £500.
The deadline for application is 25 November 2016 @ 5pm.

The Centre for Excellence in Learning (CEL) and SUBU will be holding drop-in sessions for students and academics who want to find out more information about applying for the co-creation project funding the week of the 24th of October 2016. Further details about the sessions will be communicated.

Can a Tibial mounted accelerometer be used to detect the impact differences across different footwear during running? Darel worked well on the co-creation project being an active member of the data collection. In addition, he went through training relating to technology and its use in healthcare, giving him the confidence to co-create an abstract submission. This was accepted and he conducted a poster presentation at the Physiotherapy Research Society Conference.
MMP Magazine
Thanks to the funding, the student beneficiary published Featured, a magazine featuring the final year journalism students’ work. This was eventually launched at the Careers Forum so that it could be picked up by visitors from industry, alumni and current students. Everyone was very impressed and it will now be made available at the open days so that prospective students can get a real flavour of what they might be producing if they study BA Multimedia journalism. The students will also be taking their copy to prospective employers.

Robot deploying landing capsule
In partnership with Dr Ben Thomas as well as Southampton University, the student planned on carrying out a large-scale student space project to design, build and test a parachute-assisted landing capsule that deploys a smart rover as part of a space engineering project..
