Celebrate Shove Tuesday (Pancake Day) by learning about Flipped Learning
Come have free pancakes and interact with our fabulous new touch screen in the Staff Centre and learn about flipped learning.
Professor Michael Wilmore, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication, will help to launch our ‘Flipped learning’ event with a talk about his recent research about engaging academics with new approaches to learning and teaching.
Barriers such as time constraints, miscommunication, and change resistance were overcome by modelling a shift from “sage on the stage” to “guide on the side”, through use of flipped and blended learning approaches by the academic developers. The case study he will present found teachers gained confidence in these methods and student satisfaction ratings increased.
By the end of this workshop you will:
- Interact with touch screen in staff centre
- Understand flipped learning
