Now that the majority of staff have received their initial Brightspace training in readiness for the semester 1 rollout, we are still delivering face-to-face training for staff and now transitioning to a less structured and more personalised support model of drop-in sessions for academic staff.
We have organised the first three sessions:
- Thursday 27 July. F202. 13:00 – 17:00
- Tuesday 1 August. S103. 13:00 – 17:00
- Wednesday 2 August, F202. 13:00 – 17:00
The intention is that you will be able to come along to these sessions, bring your laptop or use one of the PCs in these rooms and work on your Brightspace unit(s). There will be Learning Technology and CEL staff on hand to help. Both rooms are suitable for individual or small group working but note there are fewer PCs in F202 than S103.
For those staff not able to attend in person, we plan to use the Brightspace virtual classroom facility, YouSeeU, to host virtual sessions where many staff members can participate. If you would like to use this facility or try out a virtual classroom, please email dbiggins@bournemouth.ac.uk with an intended participation date and time (eg 2-3) so that I can sent you a link to the appropriate session as there will be several sessions each afternoon. As multiple users could be online at the same time, we cannot guarantee to address individual issues in the virtual sessions.
Once the three sessions have been completed, we will assess their benefit to staff and use this information to plan further support provision.
