As Semester 1 comes to a close and we head into Semester 2, don’t forget the many FLIE resources available to support you.
If you are one of the many academic staff now employed in marking submissions, take a look at the Assessment and Feedback section of the Brightspace Staff Resources area. Here you will find guidance on marking within Brightspace, including using Turnitin and an FAQ on anonymous marking.
Those looking to plan assessments for next semester should refer to the Assessment and Feedback toolkit. The toolkit is full of resources for academic staff, along with tools and strategies to align assessment and feedback practices with the BU Principles of Assessment Design policy (6c), and is continually being updated. You might also want to consult our Assessment and Feedback Quick Reference Guide to see how you can help students understand their assessment and feedback better.
If you have a new unit running in Semester 2, make sure you revisit our Unit Preparation guidance so you’re up to speed with adding staff to units and copying across content. Our Planning for Semester 2 blog also lists some of the key considerations when prepping a unit, such as recording lecture materials, setting up Zoom sessions and including online engagement, with a reminder of the tools and resources at your disposal.
