Call for Expressions of Interest: Chair of the TeachBU Panel for Advance HE Fellowships

TeachBU is seeking an experienced and dedicated academic leader to serve as the Chair of the TeachBU Panel for Advance HE Fellowships. This is a prestigious role that offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the advancement of teaching excellence and professional development within BU.

Role Overview:

The Chair of the TeachBU Panel will oversee up to six panels annually, ensuring the effective evaluation and support of fellowship applications. The role includes coordinating post-panel communications and providing constructive feedback to applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the TeachBU Panel’s, ensuring a fair, timely, and rigorous review process.
• Facilitate clear and efficient communication among panel members and then with applicants.
• Provide detailed, supportive feedback to applicants following panel meetings.
• Promote continuous professional development among panel members.
• Advocate for diversity and inclusion in all panel activities.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in higher education, with a strong background in teaching and learning.
• Minimum of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy preferably with PSF 2023 Training.
• Proven leadership skills, with experience in chairing committees.
• Experience of being an Assessor at TeachBU panels.
• Strong understanding of the criteria and standards for Advance HE Fellowships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
