Hi all,

International webinar
In this presentation, Robin DeRosa will introduce the basic definition of Open Educational Resources and explore some ways that faculty have been using OERs to drive down and even eliminate the cost of textbooks for students. She will cover the why and how of open licensing, and explain how Creative Commons licenses can be used by faculty and students to share educational materials and scholarship more freely.
Robin will examine some of the data around textbook costs and the efficacy of OERs as they impact student success, but she will also push past obvious cost-savings benefits to ask larger questions about how OERs, open licenses, and digital technologies that connect learners can be leveraged to develop open pedagogical practices that both empower learners to contribute to the knowledge commons and reinvigorate the mission of our institutions of higher education.
This event is free and open to all.
