Colleagues! Please consider applying for our award – and help a local charity! deadline Friday 28th April 5.pm
Briefing:
Depending on your viewpoint:
What are the health priorities following a catastrophic event?
Are such events becoming more frequent because of climate change?
How should we organise UK response to such events to reduce the impact on people?
How do we tell the world about the story – now and in the future?
Last year we ran the first Sustainable Development teaching award and received some great examples of what you are doing to inspire our students to learn and think about the world around them and how they can make a difference.
Apply now for 2017 awards
This year we have simplified the application process and want to show how our teaching is linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as these provide a road map for countries to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
You can download a copy of the application form here: I:\CEL\Collaborative\ESD Case Study Competition\2017 competition\Application form 2017.docx or send an email to sustainability@bournemouthy.ac.uk to request a copy.
Please send completed forms to sustainability@bournemouth.ac.uk by 5.00pm on Friday 28 April 2017, with ‘CEL ESD Award Application’ in the subject line.
If you have any questions regarding your application, please email the Sustainability team.
What will you win?
Successful applicants will be awarded an ‘Excellence in Sustainable Teaching’ certificate and will be able to send £75 of goods to a local charity. These will be awarded at the CEL annual ‘Celebrate’ Learning and Teaching Event on Tuesday 13 June 2017.
Professor Debbie Holley, Deputy Head of CEL said, “We look forward to welcoming our sustainability award winners at our afternoon ‘Fizz and Strawberries’ prize-giving on Tuesday 13 June, where they will join us celebrating excellent learning and teaching across BU”.
Good luck!
