Yesterday was the ‘original’ deadline for abstract submissions to the SURE conference. So far a significant number of abstracts have been received, which is an improvement compared to the same time last year. In order to further increase participation and give more students the opportunity, deadline has been extended to 10 Jan 2016.
SURE is a one-day conference to showcase the work of BU undergraduates and recent graduates (who finished their UG studies in the academic year previous to the event).
All types of work undertaken for coursework, dissertation, placement or volunteering at UG level may be acceptable providing there is an element of students’ own critical thinking, which can be on the application of methodology, literature review, data collection, data analysis, professional practice etc.
Abstracts must have a maximum of 300 words and be submitted to the conference through the SURE website (surebu.org.uk).
Submissions can have one or more authors. The first author must be an UG student but co-authors can include other BU students (UG and PG), BU staff or collaborators from external organisations.
The benefits to students taking part in the SURE conference include the following:
- Add value to work they have already undertaken during their studies.
- CV enhancement.
- Gain key experience and skills.
- Opportunity to win prizes (including a fully funded master at BU and others).
