It’s time to go green for Go Green Week!

Thanks to Jon Gilbert Sustainability Support Officer for the update

Green week is here! from the 13th -17th February and it is set to be a memorable week. It forms part of a national week of action on climate change, involving engaging people in the community through a week of activities.

At BU this year Green Week promises to be an action packed week with events going on across both Talbot and Lansdowne campuses and in the local community as well with opportunities including taking an electric vehicle out for a spin.

There are also lots of opportunities to do something for the environment, a BU group will be going to Hengistbury Head on Tuesday (14th) to carry out a litter pick and Shark and Ray Eggcase hunt which will help scientists to better understand the distribution of sharks and rays around our coast, helping us to protect these critically endangered species.

Alternatively you could get involved in the Green Hearts Campaign on Valentine’s Day as a way to start a conversation about something you love which climate change threatens. As part of this campaign you could also choose to make a personal sustainability pledge for two months on the Green Hearts Campaign page, allowing yourself to contribute to the measurable impact of this Green Week.
