The Graduate Skills + Programme was an extremely well-curated programme to prepare graduates to land a job after they get their degree. The programme consisted of 4 stages –

1) Self-awareness 2) Explore 3) Experience 4) Prepare to apply

In each stage, we had to attend at least 1 masterclass and complete at least 2 tasks listed. The masterclasses were delivered by industry experts like IBM, Lush, Dorset Mind and University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. The tasks were interesting and really practical. To mark the end of the programme, all the students who successfully completed all 4 stages were invited to an awards night.

The Graduate Skills + Awards night was all things nice! It was a lovely evening and a great time to meet other students who did the programme. The event started with some welcome drinks followed by small messages from Jenna Darlow and Alex Jacobs, who were part of the programme curation.

The occasion was made special with the presence of some eminent people, including Dr. Jeff Mostyn, the Club Ambassador and former Chairman of AFC Bournemouth and Professor John Vinney and the Vice-Chancellor of Bournemouth University. They had some inspiring messages for the students.

They also screened a multidisciplinary student project which was done by some of the students doing the graduate skills + programme, which was an animated video to create awareness for breast cancer. This was followed by the most awaited part of the evening, presenting the certificates. After which, we all had a scrumptious dinner that had some delicious choices! This was also the time to network and chat with other students who were a part of the programme and get some pictures at the photobooths, which were a lot of fun!

Good food and a good mood 🙂

Some bright minds in the room 🙂 L to R – Alex Jacobs, Jenna Darlow, Dr. Jeff Mostyn and Professor John Vinney
