I am Sandra Achim from Romania studying a Master’s in Events Management here are BU since September 2017. We all know that change is hard. For the last two years I had been trying to decide whether or not to move to Bournemouth for my Master’s programme. Now I’m studying the MSc Events Management programme at Bournemouth University. I would like to share with you my thoughts of why I chose Bournemouth and BU.

Friends, Bournemouth and language

The main reason why I chose to study in Bournemouth is because many of my friends are here. Moreover, the summer of 2016 gave me the opportunity to visit this city and to have a job here. I loved the area and I promised myself that I would be back soon. This is the main reason why I chose to study abroad. To emphasise, I chose England because I also want to improve my English language skills. I believe that my level of English is good, but there is always room for improvement.

Facilities, services, and academic support

Another reason I chose BU for my Master’s degree is because applying to this university was easy and the facilities are incredible. I discovered that BU gives students access to many services like medical support, gym facilities, sports, study skills support, placements…and the list goes on.  Also, I read that Bournemouth University is considered one of the most international universities in the world. These attributes convinced me even more that Bournemouth is the perfect place for my interests.

BU is the best fit for me

I decided that I wanted to do a Master’s in Events ever since I was a little girl. I like to organise things, attend events, and I strongly believe that attention to detail is very important. That is why I thought that the Msc Events Management program at BU was the best way to get where I want in my professional career. I chose to apply at BU after exploring the modules they offer in detail. I was pleased to see that they satisfied my interests and provided opportunities which other universities courses did not offer. Moreover, I considered how their teaching methods best suited my educational needs.

More opportunities than just academics

My experience with BU has been amazing so far and now I know that coming here for my Master’s programme was certainly the right decison for me. In addition, I got a job as an International Student Ambassador and I’m excited by how many opportuinities you have as a student at BU.

I absolutely love my BU experience and I would recommend for any student to apply for BU. You won’t regret making a small change in your world. Whatever your decision is, I can assure you that life abroad and at BU, is truly worthwhile.
