3rd year BU student, BA (Hons) Marketing Communications
I have nearly come to the end of my 40 week placement at Bournemouth University working in the School & Colleges Liaison Team. This year has flown past particularly fast…in fact it felt like only yesterday I moved into halls to start my first year! In October I will be returning to University for my final year studying Marketing Communications BA in the Media School.
One of the reasons I chose to study Marketing at Bournemouth University was the placement year. This placement has been has been extremely valuable experience and has taught me a lot about the working world. I hope to take many of the skills and experiences that I have acquired to Level H, where I will be undertaking optional modules such as Corporate Sponsorship, Brand Management and also writing my dissertation project.
I am looking forward to a busy summer where I will not only be relaxing with family and friends, but also completing a short placement at Nissan Motors in the Events team in their Head Office. I will be assisting with various experiential marketing projects and also representing Nissan at the Goodwood Festival in London.
Alongside my practical experience, I have just started to write my Logbook which is required for the placement year; this includes academic written assignments and a portfolio of work.
Additionally, I will be preparing for my final year of study this summer by reading academic articles which relate to areas of interest for my dissertation. One area I am particularly interested in is the use of Product Placement in the Film Industry.
Wish me luck as I embark on my final year at BU!
