Bournemouth University is located along the South Coast of the UK. It is a popular seaside town in Dorset and has a beautiful beach, which is a massive tourist attraction! Although it is a seaside town, Bournemouth is urbanised with numerous shops, restaurants, clubs, and bars. Bournemouth is only approximately 2 hours away from London on the train and is also in proximity to other cities in the UK.

Social life:

There are a variety of things to do in Bournemouth, especially for students. One of the main questions students are asked about is the nightlife at their university. Bournemouth has a variety of clubs and bars, all of which offer different ranges of music, student deals, and discount nights.

During the first week of university (freshers’ week) the club will host numerous different events with massive discounts, which helps you figure out what clubs you enjoy and meet loads of other freshers!

Halls of Residence:Halls of residence

Bournemouth Halls of Residence are mainly located on the Lansdowne campus, which is next to the train station in the town centre. Each hall of residence offers different things with the majority of them offering ensuite bathrooms, free WIFI, and laundry facilities.

Bournemouth University hosts Open Days where you can look around the different accommodation buildings, or there are virtual tours on the university’s website.

When joining Bournemouth University, you will have the chance to explore all the different societies. SportBU has a lot of sport-based societies, however there are numerous other societies such as mocktail cocktail society and women in business society. This is also another way to meet new people with similar interests to you at Bournemouth university.

Courses:

Bournemouth University offer so many different courses with a variety of teaching styles. To figure out if Bournemouth offers your course in the style of teaching you would prefer, come to an Open Day where there is course talks and a lot of information on your individual course!
