Ya Ha!! or Oh Boy!! Two classic quotes from Mickey Mouse!!

Come to work with me as a Production Management Intern at The Walt Disney Company!

On the commute

My day will start at 7am at the ring of my alarm! Now, while it might be tempting to hit that snooze button. No! I got to get to work.

Once I’m showered and dressed (I’m officially known as the King of Jackets in the office!), it’s time to head over to the Mouse House, and what better way to travel than the Elizabeth Line! Commuting is hungry work, so when I get to the office it’s nice to pop down to the cafe to grab a Mickey Waffle!

In my team, there are two interns, one of us works with UK productions, and the other works with all of our EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Local Markets. I am the one working with our Local Markets.

During my day-to-day, you can find me:

  • Participating in EMEA Local Markets meetings, recording and circulating minutes, maintaining distribution lists in adherence to content security guidelines, and overseeing the distribution of critical post-production tracker reports and high-level reports for the VP of Production Management.

A Mickey Waffle!

  • Providing administrative support to the Disney+ Originals Scripted Production Management Team, encompassing leave tracking, calendar management, and meeting coordination, while delivering weekly summary reports.
  • Offering administrative assistance to my line manager, which includes management of diaries, expense handling, and travel arrangement coordination.

One of the best things about doing my placement year at Disney is the opportunity to explore and learn about various other departments. Since starting my employment, I have developed a particular interest in Content Security, Events Management, and a deeper interest in Production Management and Post Production!

My top two highlights so far have to be:A green leaved bush and a white board sits in front of it with the words NFTS National Film and Television School Beaconsfield Studios

  • Going on a work trip to the National Film and Television School for a screening of the six short films I have helped to work on as part of the Star Imagine UK Incubator Programme which was selected to be part of the BFI London Film Festival 2023 – see here for more
  • Joining the Disney Voices Choir and performing all of the best Disney songs!! If this isn’t me to a T then I don’t know what is!

Even though I have only been employed at Disney for 4 months now, I can’t wait to see what the rest of my internship holds!
