How will I know if I’ve been made an offer?

Once you’ve applied through UCAS, you’ll receive a username and password, these details can be used to track the progress of your application in UCAS Track.

You’ll also receive an email with your login details to access your BU myHub account. This is BU’s online portal used by our admissions team to keep in touch with you regarding your application.

What should I expect to see in my UCAS Track when a decision has been made on my application?
Once a decision has been made, you’ll see one of the following in Track and here’s what they mean:

  • Unconditional offer – You have already met the entry requirements and have been offered a place.
  • Conditional offer – Providing that you meet the requirements laid out in the offer, you have a place on the course. Usually these will refer to your current qualifications (such as A-levels, or your English language proficiency) and will state what you need to achieve in order to be successful.
  • Rejection – You have not been offered a place on the course.

Will I need to attend an interview?

For certain courses, you will be asked to attend an interview as part of the selection process, before we make a decision. This isn’t just a chance for us to ask you questions though, it’s a great opportunity for you to find out more about our course and what it’s like to be a student at BU.

I’ve got an offer from BU, when can I apply for accommodation?

We guarantee accommodation for all new eligible undergraduate students who have selected BU as their firm choice and submitted their UCAS application by 15 January deadline (UK/EU students) or 30 June deadline (non-EU students).

There are two main stages to the BU accommodation booking process:

Stage 1 – registering your interest in BU accommodation. From spring 2018, all students who select or have already selected BU as their firm choice will receive an email with log in details to complete stage 1.

Stage 2 – booking your accommodation. When you have met all the conditions of your offer and have Unconditional Firm status (UF) you will be invited to book your accommodation. There are multiple accommodation release periods throughout June, July and August to give all students an equal chance of booking accommodation.
