We’ve been busy answering your queries, so we thought it was time for another ‘Top Questions’ blog post. Here’s what you’ve been asking!

What is Extra and when does it start?

Extra is for applicants who have used all of their uni choices and want to apply to BU.  Please note you can only apply to one course at a time, meaning you’ll not be able to have an insurance choice.  From 25 February you’ll be able to apply through UCAS.  Please check our website to find out which courses are open for Extra. There will be more information coming soon!

When can we start applying for student finance?

You can apply for your student finance through Student Finance England from Monday 29 February.  Look out for further announcements on our Facebook page, and you can see all the information so far on our website. You may find these student finance videos and other resources helpful too. You can also find details of additional financial support available from BU for students commencing study in September 2016.

Can I have an update on my application?

We appreciate that this is an anxious time and it takes 6 – 8 weeks for an application to be processed. As soon as our admissions team has reached a decision, this will be updated via UCAS track and MyHub. If you are a Hotmail user, you may wish to check your spam or junk box for emails.

I’ve been invited to attend an interview and would like to know what I need to bring with me.  Also, what is the dress code?

Congratulations, you’re halfway there!  The Admissions Team will have emailed you the individual details as to whether you need to do anything before your interview. The dress code is smart casual.

I have learning difficulties and wondered what kind of support I would get during my studies with BU.

Our Additional Learning Support Team works with students on and off-campus that have sensory/physical disabilities, specific learning differences, medical conditions or mental health conditions.  They provide information, advice and guidance for disability-related issues, deliver individualised programmes of support on a one-to-one basis to enable independent learning, and help with developing employability skills that will be needed during practice, placements and beyond graduation.

If you’ve got any more questions, leave us a comment below and we’ll get back to you. You can also find about more about BU at one of our webinars.
