Although Bournemouth town centre may not be one of the most paramount places to shop in the UK, it does offer all the essential stores for a spot of student shopping. The town centre itself is actually relatively large, with a variety of shops dotted at either end of the town, so regardless of where you are living, the town centre is easily accessible, whether that be by bus or a short walk from student accommodation.
If you are situated at Lansdowne at one of the halls of residence, you are a ten minute walk from the town centre, which is perfect if you want to pop into town for some last minute spending. However, even if you are in accommodation off Lansdowne, there are frequent, affordable buses that can take you to and from the town centre.
Whether you are searching for a new outfit, buying a new pair of shoes or stocking up on beauty cosmetics, Bournemouth town centre has plenty to offer. From Topshop, to River Island, to the more affordable Primark and H&M, guys and girls, you will never be short of choice for a new outfit. Office and Schuh are within a short walking distance and Boots and Superdrug are practically opposite one another. As well as the large department store Beales, the town centre is home to other smaller shops and independent retailers.
Shopping at Christmas
Around the Christmas period, Bournemouth town centre is home to the annual Christmas market, which immediately livens up the town and adds an extra festive feel to your shopping trip. Some of the stands offer food and drink, however, others offer little knick knacks and handmade clothing and winter accessories. The shops stay open later, some even offer a Christmas sale, so keep your eyes peeled. This means that the town centre is just as busy in the evening as it is in the day. With the beautiful garden lights and the ice skating rink, the town centre has a wonderful atmosphere around the Christmas period.
