Before results day, I honestly wasn’t even sure if university was the right path for me. I hadn’t applied through the usual process because I didn’t feel 100% certain about what I wanted to do or whether I was ready to commit to a course. Like a lot of people, I found the idea of making such a big decision quite overwhelming.

I’ve always had a strong interest in biology, but I wasn’t sure exactly which direction I wanted to go in. Looking back, choosing Biomedical Science through Clearing was genuinely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Since starting at Bournemouth University, I’ve really been enjoying my course. It’s both challenging and fascinating, and it has reinforced that I made the right choice. The lecturers are supportive, and I feel motivated to learn more every day.

One of the most exciting aspects of the course is the range of opportunities it offers. I hadn’t realised just how many doors it could open. From gaining practical lab experience to the possibility of overseas placements, there are so many ways to build skills and explore different career paths. The chance to go abroad and gain international experience is something I’m particularly excited about, as it will help me develop both academically and personally.

If you’re considering Clearing, I would definitely say don’t be afraid of it. For me, it turned uncertainty into a clear direction. The support I received made all the difference, and I couldn’t be happier with where I’ve ended up.
