What was your main reason for studying a postgraduate qualification?

To increase my skill base.

Why did you choose BU?

The course was exactly what I was looking for and I live in Dorset.

What are the best things about your course and academic experience overall?

The expertise and experience of the lecturers, they were all so interesting. After returning to study after a break of 16 years, there was always someone to ask for help and advice.

What are your favourite things about living and studying in Bournemouth?

I’ve lived in Bournemouth since I was 5 and I wouldn’t live anywhere else. It’s a wonderful, friendly place and the university really is the heart of the town.

What were your career aspirations before coming to BU and what are they now?

I wanted to gain new skills for my career but I got hooked on being back in academia so I’m staying on for a PhD.

How do you feel your experience at BU will help you in your future career?

It’s lead to me taking a new direction with a PhD: something I’ve always wanted to do.

What financial support have you been eligible for?

Disabled students allowance, postgraduate loan.

What piece of advice would you give to a prospective postgraduate student considering BU?

I made my decision after going to a Postgraduate Open Day: I highly recommend the experience!
