So you are in University – you have already taken the huge first step. But there are still plenty of things left to do that can help to guarantee that you get the most out of the hard work that you put in for the years you are here. the-edgeThe Careers Services at the University is there to help you with just that.

The Careers Services is situated in the Edge Student Development Centre right outside the Michael Cobham Library on the way to the Fusion Building from Poole House. It’s open from 8:45am in the morning until 4:30pm in the evening. Plenty of time to pop in and have a quick discussion about the wide range of opportunities you can take advantage of as a Bournemouth University student.

If you are a 1st year student I would most definitely recommend using the Careers Services’ resources to land a part-time job in the University or elsewhere. Not only that, they will also be able to help you out with your CV and preparing for interviews by offering the facility to book an one-on-one appointment with a member of the team. International students can also gain valuable insights regarding work with respect to their visa requirements.

leafletsIt is not necessary to visit the Careers Office in person if you require assistance. When you are a Bournemouth University student you can automatically access their services by logging on to My CareerHub from MyBU, the details of which will be provided to you in due course. All of the stuff I have already mentioned is available on the online portal for you to take advantage of, including numerous job listings ranging from part-time, internships to graduates. So, make sure not to miss out on the wide and flexible range of opportunities offered by the Careers Service once you are here. Remember, it is up to you to make the most of the degree and your time at University and the Careers Service can act as the perfect catalyst in helping you achieve your goals.

Best wishes for your future, until then, take care.
