1. I’ve been offered a place at BU starting in September 2015. When can I apply for my accommodation?
Firstly, congratulations on your offer! You’ll be able to register your interest in accommodation at the end of May. We will email all eligible students as soon as registration is open, with full details of what to do next and deadlines. Please keep an eye on your junk/spam folder if you have a Hotmail account.
In the meantime, you may wish to start considering your accommodation options, as this will help when you come to make your decision about preferences. All of the details can be found on our website and from mid-April you’ll also be able to see a new gallery of images, 360 degree views of our accommodation options and more detailed information for each residence.
2. I am planning on studying a joint Honours, I was wondering if your university offered these?
The only joint subjects we offer are listed on our website, such as BA (Hons) Business Studies with Law and BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology. We do not currently offer the opportunity to combine two different degrees.
You may be interested in attending one of our forthcoming Open Days here at BU, where you will be able to chat with academics who oversee our courses to see which subject areas we offer interest you.
3. I’m interested in attending this year’s Dorset UCAS Convention that you’re holding at your Talbot Campus, how do I book my place?
The Dorset UCAS Convention takes place on Wednesday 15 April 09:30 – 15:30, Talbot Campus (BH12 5BB). It is a ticketed event, free of charge. To register your place, please click here and select the convention you wish to attend.
Parking for visitors on site is limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. For visitors arriving by foot or public transport, please report to the main reception in the Poole House building where a member of staff will direct visitors to the first exhibition hall in Kimmeridge House. For directions on how to find us, please click here.
4. I’m interested in BA (Hons) Film Production & Cinematography, can I attend an Open Day?
The Wiltshire College, Salisbury is one of our Partner Colleges, which delivers this course on behalf of BU and their next Open Day will be on Tuesday 28 April 2015. Please click here for more details.
5. I’m interested in being considered for one of your UK scholarships and bursaries, can you help?
We offer a wide range of scholarships that are available for undergraduate students to reward academic excellence, and your musical or sporting talents. You can apply for more than one scholarship, if you meet the requirements, however, you will only be awarded one, if you are successful. In addition, we offer two bursaries designed to offer extra financial support for those from low income households or care leavers.
Depending on your scholarship or bursary, you may be awarded a cash payment (often via a pre-paid card) or as a discount on your tuition fees. For further details, please click here.
