LLB (Hons) Law

By Patricia Obawole

2nd year BU Student, LLB (Hons) Law

Okay, so I recently got back from a one week (5 working days) all expenses paid (by Bournemouth University) trip to Brussels, Belgium. Why you say? Well, I know the right kind of people, no I’m joking. The trip I went on is one of the many extra-curricular, yet simultaneously focused on your course trips that you can partake in if you decided to go to Bournemouth University.

As a law student you get to go on the occasional trip to London to attend an event and the odd parliament trip. However, a fantastic opportunity came up, as the EU elections are approaching, 33 other students from a range of nationalities and courses, went to Brussels, the EU capital (for making legislations and not the actual capital city of the EU, don’t worry many make the same mistake) to go and investigate what the EU actually is. But enough about the EU and more about the opportunities.

Students in Brussels, Belgium.

When at uni and studying for your degree always be on the lookout for opportunities to travel, they are not as few or far apart as you think. These little gems are fantastic opportunities to grasp the broader concept of your degree, for me, it was the fact that I got to go and visit a place where legislation affecting us was decided, this with the fact that I got to speak with people who are making this legislation was unreal.

Oh and did I mention that I did not pay a penny, this was because, the uni want their students to attend these events so as to give them awareness of the world.

So as I said, if you do have the chance to attend anything like this, sign your name up and you will not regret it.

The more and more I read about Bournemouth University, the more I see paying £9,000 a year is worth it.

For me, going to university is a big thing but its just how expensive it all costs, for 4 years of my life. I still have a lot of thinking to do!

      Hi Steven

Thank you for your comment, that’s lovely to know.

In regards to your financial worries, please take a look at our website to see what financial support BU can offer you when studying at university. Also, the cost over the four year period won’t be as bad to pay back as you think. Please take a look at the ‘Facts about Fees: Student Loans’ video we have created which will explain this in further detail.

We have a dedicated askBU future students team who will be more than happy to talk through any worries you may have if you would like to send them an email or give them a call at your convenience.

      Many thanks

      Sam
