Comments on time as Prof Middleton (ORI) Fellow:

The one-year fellowship under Prof Middleton provided me all-round experience in complex primary hip replacements, periprosthetic hip fractures and revision hip surgery. The mentorship was phenomenal. Attending the Robotics list gave me an opportunity to appreciate three-dimensional anatomy, and spatial awareness by receiving the Robotic feedback. The time spent on Wednesdays at Orthopaedic Research Institute (ORI) was one of the highlights of the fellowship programme. I also attended Mass Orthopaedic Clinics, which is an innovative patient centric outpatient care. During the last part of 6 months being a Senior Fellow, I was given the opportunity to perform the independent list 3 full days a week. By the end of the fellowship, I am fully prepared to provide independent practice in hip surgery. It was a great privilege to get trained in a fellowship programme which has an outstanding reputation. This unit is not only a centre of excellence for Joint Replacement Surgery, but also the highest volume centre in United Kingdom.
