The University is investing in the growth of the Faculty of Management in order to enhance our academic reputation through excellent teaching and learning underpinned by impactful research in a global environment.  Knowledge development and education is at the heart of the Faculty and we are proud to offer an excellent portfolio of programmes including MSc programmes in Tourism and Hospitality Management.

The Faculty combines academic excellence and expertise from the areas of business and management, economics and tourism, which is documented by highly successful submissions to UoA 19 (Business and Management Studies) and UoA 26 (Sports and Exercise Sciences, Leisure and Tourism) in the recent Research Excellence Framework 2014. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate research leadership and to engage in cutting edge research which enhances their contribution to high quality education.

As an Academic in Tourism and Hospitality, you will be committed to excellence in practice, teaching and research. Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.

You will be expected to strengthen the Department’s position as a high-level research institution in joining an active and productive group of scholars whose work coalesces around the interdisciplinary understanding of tourism and hospitality. You will also engage in attracting external grant funding, knowledge transfer, continuous professional development, consultancy and other forms of external engagement and professional practice, as appropriate.

We welcome expertise in any relevant areas and from relevant disciplinary backgrounds. It would be an advantage if you can demonstrate an affinity between your own research programme, research in the Department, cross-Faculty research themes and demonstrate links across the University.

You will be qualified to Doctorate level.  You will have demonstrated global research leadership and you will be committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
